Cults gained popularity using online music platform, Bandcamp. More recently, they’ve spoken out against the site for forcing them to charge their fans fees to download their songs (the band wanted to give them away for free).
Cults collaborated on a song for Red Hot+Rio 2, an album that came out this past June. The album is a follow-up to the 1996 Red Hot + Rio, and proceeds from sales will be donated to raise awareness and money to fight AIDS/HIV and related health and social issues. We love when bands use their popularity to bring attention to social issues, so kudos, Cults!
